Myron B Hodge City Park

June 29th, 2009

While on a camping trip tOchlockonee River State Park, we discovered this nice park in the town of Sopchoppy, Florida.

The park is on the Sopchoppy River which is a blackwater river. It’s very pretty. We never got a chance to kayak the river due to weather issues but think it would be very pretty in the fall with the fall colors reflecting on the dark water.

The park is well maintained by a couple that live on the premises. They obviously put a lot of effort in keeping it beautiful. There are 50 and 30 amp rv sites right on the river. There is a boat ramp, a boardwalk, basketball court, pavillion, and very clean restrooms and showers.

It’s a nice campground but with the State Park so close, we will probably stay there and drive the 4 miles to kayak on the Sopchoppy.
