What To Do If You Have a Blowout

On the Rv-Net Forum there has been a lot of discussion about the fatality from the tire blow out in the motorhome.  It seems to be a big fear among all rv'ers.

The thinking is that if you have a blow out, the worst thing you can do is hit the brakes.

The second worst thing you can do is let off the accelerator!

That was a little surprising to me, but after watching this video it makes sense.

What you should do is accelerate!
Watch the video and it makes sense.

I know that worked when we pulled our travel trailer.  If a truck would come up from behind us it would cause the trailer to sway terribly.  If Al saw the truck coming, he would accelerate lightly and there was no sway.  It worked every time, as long as you saw the truck coming ahead of time.

What to do if you have a blow out in your RV
